Condor Creative Magazine is a student-run bilingual journal, of works written in English and Spanish, as well as the blending of both languages. The purpose of Condor Creative Magazine is to foster and cultivate an artistic community at UCSD with a focus on the Americas. It seeks to collect and compile the concerns of our diverse generation in one heterogenic piece. It is our goal to break from the false representation of said diversity. We are a generation born and/or raised in the displacement brought upon by the effects of globalization. As a result, our primary focus is the experiences of the American subaltern, those whose language and culture is excluded from the dominant hegemonic discourse. Condor transcends the arbitrarily imposed physical and ideological boundaries of the continent.
Condor Creative Magazine will be in print as well as online. It will be distributed using a creative commons license. This will permit the work to be propagated in a greater scale while conserving the artists’ recognition. Also, the creative commons license is non-profit. The works include poetry, short stories, drawings, painting, flash fiction, short essays, original research, photography, and other creative works in writing and the visual arts. At the same time, it is not exclusive to other forms of expression such as alternative media and media fusion.
We hope to work closely with the people who participate and submit their work to develop an awareness of the variety of experience and expression. Thus, allowing us to enrich the culture and the artists’ guild.

Judo is a Japanese martial sport derived from Ju-Jitsu, Karate, and wrestling. The founder of Judo, Jigoro Kano trimmed both dangerous and inefficient techniques from these sports, allowing for both elegant and safe combat. With continued refinement, a comprehensive grappling sport soon developed, and was eventually added to the Olympiad. The art stresses dynamic, elegant throws, upholding finesse and, as a fundamental principle, the achievement of maximum efficiency with minimal effort. Through traditional and modern training methods, members perfect the art, improve their fitness, and foster close relationships with each other. The purpose of the organization is to gather Judo enthusiasts, both new and experienced, to practice and appreciate the sport. The two central tenets of our organization are a focus on the perfection of our skills, and communal prosperity both on and off the mat.
We intend on sparring under the current Olympic Judo rules, so to ensure the safety of members. Qualified referees, and members with first aid skills will be ever present at our meetings and practices. Official international Judo rules and regulations can be found at: http://www.intjudo.eu/Rules
